LO4 Report

The post production techniques I used created meaning in my product because I used bright, friendly colours which shows it is a vibrant, upbeat magazine made so the fans can enjoy reading it. I used the colours of Doncaster rovers as that is recognisable to the fans and it is the colours DRFC wear on the pitch to represent the club. I used red stripes on the inside pages as Doncaster Rovers play in red stripes as their home kit. I used a sans serif font for headings as it is much easier to read compare to sarif fonts. This is important for the headings as they need to be clear to read especially as my audience is a younger demographic. On the inside pages, I have used a Doncaster Rovers logo in the top left and right corners as that is the identity of the club and is recognisable for the fans when reading. This fanzine is suitable for the mainstreamer audience as most people, especially men, have a large interest in football and they would support their local club. Doncaster has a large population therefore the increased chance of more fans who are regular working class people. I edited the initial photos I took of Amin, Charlie and Euan and Jack as it was not suitable to be instantly added to a magazine. For all images, I increased the vibrance and contrast so that the photos look more alive and the people in the fanzine stand out more. Also, I used the spot healing tool to remove any spots or blemishes on the images so that everyone looks more clean and presentable in the fanzine. In addition to means that the audience has nothing to be distracted by because if someone had a large mark on their face, that would grab the audiences attention instead of the content in the fanzine itself. Euan and Jack represent the average fan in the fanzine as they share their story of matchdays and how DRFC really decides their weekend. I used the  a clipping mask on some of the images to try and blend them in with other photos that I took. This makes the fanzine look more professional and high standard which would encourage my audience to purchase my product. In terms of how I edited the text, I used a text wrap on the inside pages so the text goes around a box instead of overlapping which would make the fanzine look poorly designed. I used a drop shadow on the headings and titles as that made them stand out compared to the regular text. This is important as that is what I want the audience to be attracted to as that is what they read to pull them in.
